NOTE:

The Post has a new Internet Provider, “Az AirNet”. Our WiFi password has changed, ask your bartender. If you are not happy with your Internet Provider or have not been able to get Internet service, these people offer a good service at a fair price. They do cover most of the local area and are expanding their coverage. If you are interested check them out at, “http://www.azairnet.com/”. Support your Post. If you do subscribe to their service tell them you were referred by “American Legion Post 79″. Thanks.

As you all are well aware we have had our second major wildfire in 3 years. Thankfully, this time there was no loss of life or home. We owe a debt of gratitude to all the firefighters and the support agencies that beat the fire down at our very doorstep and saved our little town. The professional firefighters and the big aerial water tankers carried the heavy weight. Do not forget our own local volunteer firefighters. They do not have the big equipment to attack a large wildfire directly. Instead, over the last 3 years they have spent countless hours clearing brush and creating fire breaks on the edges of Yarnell. This gave the wildfire crews a foothold to stand on. Again, thank you to all the people and agencies that responded to our latest fire, especially to our friends and neighbors that volunteer at our local fire departments.

The first Monday of the month is the fourth of July, Independence Day. We will be having a Patio Party from Noon till 4pm, serving burgers and dogs. The public is invited, come on down and spend a patriotic 4th at the American Legion. On Saturday, July 9th the Ladies Auxiliary will put on a Big Band Dance, Swing Nite.

“Denise Roggio & the Back Tracks” will be providing music from the Big Band era. Period costumes are encouraged with prizes awarded for the best. Everything starts at 7:00pm and will go till it ends, the Public is welcome and admission is Free. On Saturday the 16th we will have a “Jam Session” during Happy Hour (3pm till 6pm). If you play a musical instrument come on down and join in. If not, stop by and listen. BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument).

Sunday from 10:00am till 1:00pm get a Breakfast Burrito with a Bloody Mary for $3.00. Mondays from 10:00am till the pizza is gone, we are offering a “Beer and a Slice”, that is a slice of Pizza and a Natural Lite beer for only $3.00. If you show your membership card before the bartender asks to see it, you get 25 cents off your first drink! Monday is “HAT DAY”; 25 cents off your first drink if you are wearing a hat! “RED SHIRT FRIDAY”; if you are wearing a red shirt you get 25 cents off your first drink!

For God and Country,

Al Lennert, Commander

America’s abundance was not created by public sacrifices to “the common good”, but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes.” – Ayn Rand
