"Where The Warm Desert Breeze Meets The Cool Mountain Air"

A.L.R. April 2011

We always decide on our monthly ride at our monthly meeting on the FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH at 6 P.M. – Please try to make these meetings so you can have input on where we go!

Our meal for our April meeting (April 6) will be Juanita’s Famous Spaghetti & Garlic Bread = for only $5.00 = AND now serving from 4-6 PM! So, come early and bring your appetite!

Reminders: To receive notices of PGR missions, sign up at PatriotGuard.org and StandTallStandProud.org.

And the AZALR calendar for all ALR Runs and events is on the AZALR website: http://azalr.yolasite.com. The Department website also now has a Classified Section for ALR members buying and selling things, help wanteds, etc.

A few ALR 79 Ball Caps are left in the display cabinet and are for sale at $15 each.

Our april Chapter ride will be a ride to the AZALR Quarterly meeting at Post 7 in Tucson. Most of us will be leaving PV on Friday, April 8. Hotel info has already been sent out to everybody and departue time will be sent out April 1. This will be an overnighter and give us a chance to get some stamps from those ALR Chapters in Southern Arizona which are participating. All ALR members in Arizona are invited to attend the state Quarterly meetings.

Upcoming ALR 79 Events:

April 29: 5th Friday of the month, which means an ALR dinner.

May 7: Yarnell Daze, in which we’ll not only be in the parade, but will have a booth and selling pictures on a neat yellow motorcycle for $10.

June 10-12: AZALR Statewide campout hosted by ALR 86 in Overgaard.

June 24: Department convention and AZALR quarterly meeting.

September 24: ALR 79 Annual Poker Run.

If you can help out at our April Dinner, Yarnell Daze booth, Monthly Meeting Dinners or September Poker Run, please let John or Julie know.

As always, please let us know what we can do to get you to start coming to meetings, going on rides, participate in fundraisers, etc. and to make Our Chapter better. We should be geared to doing two things: One, going on rides and having fun; and Two, raising money (and having fun doing it) to benefit or ALR charities, troops, vets and children.

For God and Country,

John Moffitt, assistant Director & Run Coordinator
