"Where The Warm Desert Breeze Meets The Cool Mountain Air"

A.L.R. March 2010

Mother Nature really screwed the pooch on our January ride – but that won’t stop us from continuing to schedule at least one planned group ride a month for our members. When possible (like in February), we’ll schedule an ALR-79 ride to an event or run being put on by one of our sister ALR Chapters. If none are being held or we can’t agree on a date, then we’ll try out new and interesting places to eat (compliments of my research on the Food Channel and Travel Channel websites).

HOWEVER, WE ALWAYS DECIDE ON OUR MONTHLY RIDE AT OUR MONTHLY MEETING ON THE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH – SO PLEASE TRY TO MAKE THESE MEETINGS SO YOU CAN HAVE INPUT ON WHERE WE GO.

I will continue to send out e-mails to you all of PGR missions and any other last-minute rides I plan on going to if you want to join me on a ride.

Don’t forget –  if you want to find out what is going on at other ALR Chapters in the State, go to our State website – http://usalr.org/AZALR.

MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE OUR QUARTERLY ALR DINNER A SUCCESS: The workers (Juanita, Julie, Nancy, Jackson, Glen, Margaret, Kathy, Adra, Rose and Dave), those non-members who pitched in to help (Mark Price and Bruce Oliver, and Chance’s grandson Kevin), and to our other members who came out to dinner that night to support us.

DON’T FORGET UPCOMING IMPORTANT EVENTS:

April 10 we’ll have our quarterly AZALR meeting at ALR 105 on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.

June 11-13 will be our second annual AZALR Camp-out in Tombstone.

Info on both of these is also on the AZALR calendar and both promise to be a good time. All AZALR events are open to all ALR riders in Arizona.

LASTLY, WE NEED ITEMS TO AUCTION AT OUR ANNUAL POKER RUN IN MAY. If you can donate something which you think bikers might bid on at a silent auction, please get them down to the Post, to Chuck’s attention. Anything in good shape which someone might pay to buy at the silent auction is needed – and it doesn’t necessarily have to be motorcycle-related, although used leathers in good shape will bring in money.

For God and Country
