A.L.R. March 2011

We always decide on our monthly ride at our monthly meeting on the FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH at 6 P.M. – Please try to make these meetings so you can have input on where we go!

Our meal for our March meeting (March 2) will be Chaz’s Famous Beef Strogonoff for only $5.00, served from 4-6 PM!

So, come to the February meeting early and bring your appetite!

I will continue to send out emails to you all of PGR missions and any other last minute rides I plan on going to if you want to join me. For you to receive notices of PGR missions directly from PGR please sign up at PatriotGuard.org and StandTallStandProud.org.

The AZALR calendar for the current month is always on the ALR board at the Post, as well as fliers for Poker Runs and events at other ALR Chapters. More info on all ALR rides throughout the state is available at the AZALR website: http://azalr.yolasite.com. The Department website also now has a Classified Section for ALR members buying and selling things, help wanteds, etc.

We have shipped off three boxes of goodies to an Army unit in Afghanistan. We also donated $100 to buy underwear for our patients at Prescott VA. Buying these thangs and paying for shipping costs money, so it is important for our ALR members to participate in our dinners and other fund raising activities so we will continue to have money for these much needed projects.

Reminder: ALR 79 Ball Caps are in the display cabinet and are for sale at $15 each.

Lots of rides and special events coming up as the weather gets better. Our March Chapter ride will be on March 26. We will ride down to ALR 29 (Glendale) for their Legacy Run. We will leave Mountainare at 8:00 AM. We will need a good turn out because ALR 29 always supports our poker runs.

April 9th is the AZALR meeting at ALR 7 in Tucson. This will be an over-nighter, not only because of the distance involved, but to also give us a chance to get some stamps from those ALR Chapters in southern Arizona which are participating. All ALR members in Arizona are invited to attend the State Quarterly meetings.

As always, please let us know what we can do to get you to start coming to meetings, going on rides, participating in fundraisers, etc. We should be geared to doing two things: One, going on rides and having fun; and Two, raising money (and having fun doing it) to benefit our ALR Charities – troops. vets and children.

For God and Country,

John Moffit, Assistant Director & Run Coordinator
