"Where The Warm Desert Breeze Meets The Cool Mountain Air"

A.L.R. November 2011

Monthly meetings are on the FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH at 6 P.M. – Please try to make these meetings so you can have input on where we go. what we do & who we support.

Our next meeting is November 2nd at 6 PM. Dinner (Chicken Soup.) will be served from 5-6 PM.

We have to order Run Sheets for the Get To Know Your Posts program this year so, if you want a Run Sheet please let me know before the next meeting. Only $15.00 gets you a chance at winning anywhere from $200 to $1000! – This is open to ALL Legion Family members.

Great Turn-Out last month on our various activities; lots of bikes at the VA BBQ (many of which went on to the Post 78’s Poker Run), good turn-out for the PGR funeral escort in Prescott and a successful Meat Draw. Thanks to all who helped and let’s keep up the good work!

New ALR  Appointments: Congrats (and, thanks for stepping up) to Gil Newton as our new Sergeant At Arms and to Adra Shayne as our new Historian.

Upcoming ALR Events:

November 6: (Sunday) – ALR 79 ride to Bagdad for lunch (The Diner In Main). We’ll be leaving Post 79 at 1:00 PM.

December 15: ALR and the Legion Family will be doing our annual Christmas Party at Model Creek Elementary in Peeples Valley. Program starts around 6:30 PM. Come and be one of Santa’s Elves for the kids!

As always, please let us know what we can do to get you to start coming to meetings, going on rides, participate in fundraisers, etc. and to make Our Chapter better. We should be geared to doing two things: One, going on rides and having fun; and Two, raising money (and having fun doing it) to benefit or ALR charities, troops, vets and children.

For God and Country,

John Moffitt, assistant Director & Run Coordinator
