"Where The Warm Desert Breeze Meets The Cool Mountain Air"

A.L.R. October 2010

We always decide on our monthly ride at our monthly meeting on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of each month at 6:00 PM! Please try to make these meetings so you can have input on where we go.

At our next meeting, October 6, we will be serving Kath Holle’s famous Chinese Chicken Salad for only $5.00! So come to the October meeting early and bring your appetite!

I will continue to send out emails to you all of PGR missions and any other last minute rides I plan on going to if you want to join me on a ride.

For the many of you who haven’t been on a PGR mission (either a funeral, welcome home for our troops or doing a “send-off” and wishing them “God Speed” during their deployment), these are truly special events and can really get to you emotionally. And if you want to ride a cage to a PGR mission, that is OK too.

Don’t forget, if you want to find out what is going on at other ALR chapters in the state go to the state Rider’s website – http://azalr.yolasite.com

Our October ALR 79 Ride will be a ride to ALR 117 to support their Legacy Run on October 16th. We will leave Mountainaire at 8 AM and ride to Post 117 for the Poker Run (16428 N 32nd St., Phoenix).

If we want other ALR Chapters to support our Poker Runs we really do need to start showing up for theirs.

Don’t forget upcoming important events:

October 2 – Northern Arizona VA BBQ. We’ll be leaving Mountainaire at 8:15 AM and ride to Post 40 (Chino Valley) for a group ride to the VAHospital.

October 29 is our ALR Friday Night Dinner. We will be doing a special fund raiser – THE QUEEN OF KINGS. wE DO NEED VOLUNTEERS TO BE OUR CONTESTANTS AND ALSO alr MEMBERS TO HELP WITH THE DINNER. IT WILL BE SO MUCH FUN and raise much needed funds. Queen of Kings is a beauty pageant for men. Since it is so close to Halloween costumes would be great. We do need a few brave men willing to have fun and receive a free dinner… and, a great prize for the winner.

For god and Country,

John Moffit, Assistant Director
