Ladies Auxiliary June 2012

It was wonderful to see some new faces at this month’s meeting, and hoping to see more as the months go by.

The Junior Auxiliary, the attending Senior members and the Quilt werewell received by our Legion Family Post 12 in Wickenburg at their fish fry on April 27, 2012. What a fabulous time.

The Juniors will be displaying the American Legion Family Quilt and offering raffle tickets at Post 6 in Prescott on June 12th during the Honor Guard’s breakfast. Should be a great time. Let me know if you can be a chaperon/driver from 8 AM to 1 PM.

We are looking for ladies intereted in chairing committees. We have a artial list with brief description of each on the Auxiliary bulletin board. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

The elected officials unable to attend last month’s meeting took their oaths of office at this meeting.

The community center in Yarnell will be hosting the Food Handlers Class June 6th at 2 PM. There is no charge for volunteers. No sign up necessary. A Food Handlers License must be posted in the Legion kitchen for everyone volunteering for kitchen duties. Please get your license!

Our next Auxiliary meeting is June 16th at noon. The Department President, Sharon Doran, will be in attendance. She graciously accepted our invitation and looks forward to her visit. Unit 79 member and District President Juanita Moffitt will also be at the meeting. A potluck will follow. Please plan to attend and bring a dish of your choice to pass,

For those ladies who need advance notice for their scheduling, we will be having an Initiation Ceremony for new members and not yet initiated members at the July 21st meeting.

The Full Officer Board, which includes our Executive Committee, will meet at 11:30 AM June 16th before our meeting. If you are unable to attend please call me in advance at 427-0251.

I want to personally thank all our hard working volunteers, our Officers, for the duties they are fulfilling to the best of their ability, all the ladies that chair different committees and the Juniors along with their supportive families that allow them to be active within this organization.

Until we meet again, let us be ever watchful of our organization and ourselves that nothing shall swerve us from the foremost purpose of the Auxiliary: to contribute to the accomplishment of the aims and purposes of the American Legion.

For God and Country,

Nancy Serini, President
