SALutations from the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 79

I would like to take this time to introduce myself, Vern Holle, as your new SAL Commander. I would like to start out by asking our SAL’s to please come to our meetings which are on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 11 AM at the Post in Yarnell. We need new ideas and volunteers for upcoming functions and our 4th Friday dinners, and more participation in our new endeavors.

If any of you SAL’s out there haven’t paid your dues, please do so as soon as possible.

Any son of a veteran may join our Squadron; just ask the bartender or any officer for an application. You will need a copy of your relatives DD214 and $20.00.

On Saturday, the 4th of July we will be hosting a Patio Party starting at noon, Our menu will consist of: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, brats or 1/4lb hot dogs. Sides of homemade potato salad, corn on the cob and, of course, watermelon. We will also serve draft beer on the patio. Look for our fliers, prices will be posted on those. We welcome one and all as we will also be open to the public.

As this is my first newsletter article, I will make it short. Hope to see everyone at the next meeting in June.

For God and Country

Vern Holle, S.A.L. Commander
